Questions we are asked
Before you write
Direct answers to the questions clients most often raise before an engagement begins. Click a question to open its answer.
Who owns the firm?
We are an independent, founder-owned firm led by Makram Hached. Locally rooted, with international experience. No outside shareholders, and no undisclosed affiliations.
How does an engagement begin?
It begins with a conversation. You describe the situation in general terms. We then agree scope and confidentiality, and send you a written proposal with deliverables, timeframe and fee. Work starts once it is countersigned.
How do I contact the firm privately?
Write to us at any of the addresses above. You do not need to share sensitive material at first contact. We reply within two working days.
How long is a typical engagement?
A defined assessment usually runs 2 to 6 weeks. A standing engagement is delivered as a monthly or quarterly retainer with a written review. A one-off briefing is normally delivered within a working week.
Why Tunisia?
Tunisia is the practical entry point to North Africa. It offers a stable legal and banking framework for professional contracts, working access to Libya, Algeria, Morocco and the western Mediterranean, and a neutral standing across regional politics.
How is C.R.C different from foreign-owned firms in Tunisia?
We are regionally rooted, not deployed. Our founder, our Programme Leads and our working network are all based in the region. European standards, North African judgement.
What languages do you work in?
English and French as standard, and Arabic in the field. You choose your working language, and there is no translation cost within a normal engagement.
What is the Elissa Standard?
The Elissa Standard is our internal reference for how a private client's resilience is designed, documented and reviewed. It covers residence, travel, information, staff and continuity. It is written advisory work, not physical protection. We apply it on request for principals, families and family offices.
What is a Programme Lead?
A Programme Lead is a senior professional we retain to carry a country, sector or client relationship, under our direct oversight. Each Programme Lead is introduced, vetted, bound by written terms, and briefed to our own standards. They are not open freelancers, and never client-facing outside the firm.
How does the firm build its local network?
By introduction, not open recruitment. Our Programme Leads and specialists (including a growing number of senior women professionals across the region) are identified individually, vetted, and engaged under written terms. Interested professionals may write to workwithus@carthageriskconsulting.com.
