Business resilience &re-planning
Prepare for uncertainty. Respond to change. Re-plan for what comes next.
Contingency Planning · Scenario Planning · Business Continuity · Strategic Re-PlanningThe question behind it
Most organisations hold a continuity plan written for a set of conditions that no longer apply. Suppliers have changed, routes have changed, key people have moved, and the document has not been tested since it was approved.
The question a board or a managing director has to answer is not whether a disruption is possible. It is whether the business would continue to trade through one, how long that could be sustained, and what the plan should become now that the operating conditions are different.
Prepare → Anticipate → Recover → Adapt
Prepare. What the organisation depends on to keep trading, and where a single failure would stop it.
Anticipate. The disruptions that are credible in this operating environment rather than generic, and the indicators that one is developing.
Recover. Who decides, on what authority, within what time, and whether that has been rehearsed rather than assumed.
Adapt. The re-planned way forward once conditions have moved, so the organisation is not returning to an arrangement that has already failed.
Decisions it supports
It establishes which activities must continue and in what order, where dependency on a supplier, a route, a utility or an individual is concentrated, what an interruption would cost in time and in trading terms, which measures are worth their expense and which are not, and what assurance a board, an insurer or a lender needs that the matter has been examined properly.
Professional judgement
The work is grounded in how commerce actually functions in North Africa and the western Mediterranean: what ports and inland routes do in practice, how administration responds under pressure, and which continuity assumptions imported from another market do not survive locally.
The firm advises. It does not supply guarding, transport or technical installation, and it holds no commercial interest in any provider whose work it examines.
Discuss an arrangement
A plan is best examined before it is relied on. Describe the organisation and its operating footprint in general terms, and the conversation continues privately.
